I began ice skating at the age of 3, and have never looked back! I competed as a figure skater for a number of years, becoming Australian champion in both Primary and Novice divisions, and Junior State Champion, before a back injury forced me to retire from figure skating and led me to find a new love in synchronised ice skating.
I have represented Australia on numerous occasions as a synchronised skater, and was fortunate to live and train in Germany where I skated with Team Berlin 1, placing 8th at the World Synchronised Skating Championships 2009. Upon my return from Germany, I began coaching, and it’s something I am incredibly passionate about.
I currently coach Senior and Advanced Novice, and am fortunate to have coached our senior team (Team Unity) to success at the last 2 Australian Figure Skating Championships. I then accompanied Team Unity to the World Synchronised Skating Championships In 2018 and 2019 as coach. Team Unity placed 15th at the 2019 Championships, which is Australia’s best achievement, and something I am incredibly proud of.
I have my Level 1 Coaching Accreditation and I am completing my level 2 Coaching Accreditation Course. I have a Bachelors degree in Human Movement and Social Science (Psychology), as well as a post graduate degree in Law. When I’m not at the ice rink coaching, I am a practicing lawyer.
The thing I love about coaching, is how much I get to see skaters transition and grow, both as skaters and as people! I love working with teams and encouraging skaters to reach their goals on and off the ice. There’s really nothing quite like it!
