DONATIONS & SPONSORSHIP 2023 ISU WORLD JUNIOR & ISU WORLD SYNCHRONIZED SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS
Majestic Ice Australia (MIA) is proud of the outstanding achievements of Majestic Ice Junior and Team Unity (Senior) Synchronized ice skating teams, following their gold medal achievements at the Australian Figure Skating Championships (AFSC) in Brisbane in November 2022.
The teams' success has qualified them to represent Australia at: ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships in Angers, France 10-11 March 2023 and ISU World Synchronised Skating Championships in Lake Placid, USA, 30 March-01 April 2023 As Synchronized skating is not as yet an Olympic Sport, these championships are the peak international events for the sport of Sychronized Skating.
Both Junior and Senior team skaters have defied the odds to reach this position in spite of their home rink, Canterbury Olympic Ice Rink, closing unexpectedly and indefinitely, for repairs on 31 August 2022. Through hard work, determination and dedication, our skaters have reached the top of their sport in Australia.
In the lead up to AFSC they trained as early as 4.30am and as late as 11.45pm at various Sydney rinks, travelling to the Erina and Hunter regions and even interstate, in order to find ice to train on. MIA thanks the following rinks for supporting our skaters: Ice Zoo, Macquarie Ice Rink, Erina Ice Arena, Hunter Ice Skating Stadium and Phillips Swimming & Ice Skating Centre, Canberra.
The costs associated with travelling such distances (including travel, accommodation and commercial ice hire) have already placed a large financial burden on these skaters and their families.
MIA Junior and Team Unity (Senior) synchronised ice skating teams would be most appreciative of any donations that you can make in support of their training and international travel costs.
